Africa Legal to host GC and Leadership Roundtable on Legal and Geopolitical Risk at Resourcing Tomorrow 2025

Resourcing Tomorrow, the global forum where mining leaders unite to shape the future of the industry, will be held in London on 2-4 December. The essential role of the legal community will be explored in a special closed-door session hosted by Africa Legal.

Africa Legal is pleased to announce its partnership with Resourcing Tomorrow 2025 as both official media partner and event co-host, with the launch of a special GC and Leadership Roundtable to take place in London on 3 December 2025.

“The legal community is essential to navigating the risks and opportunities shaping the future of global mining,” says Andrew Thake, Divisional Director at Resourcing Tomorrow. “From cross-border regulation to responsible investment frameworks, legal professionals are at the centre of critical decisions. We’re delighted to partner with Africa Legal to ensure these voices are front and centre.”

Resourcing Tomorrow, which will be held this year at the Business Design Centre in London from 2-4 December, brings together more than 2,000 key industry players from around the world, from mining and energy companies to investors, brokers, educators, government and regulators, suppliers and operators.

As part of this year’s event, Africa Legal will co-host a special session on 3 December under the Chatham House Rule on “Navigating Legal and Geopolitical Challenges in Resource Security”. This invitation-only, closed door Roundtable will bring together legal counsel, risk leaders, government relations executives, and investors from the mining and energy sectors to provide a strategic forum for peer-level dialogue and insight-sharing on key challenges facing the industry.

“Legal and government affairs leaders are at the centre of decisions that are shaping Africa’s role in global mineral supply chains,” says Scott Cowan, CEO of Africa Legal. “This Roundtable will explore how legal strategy, regulatory foresight, and public-private cooperation are essential for sustainable, resilient growth.”

Building on six successful years hosting GC Forums for the extractives community — and following the launch of the GC Forum | Governance, Risk and Compliance to be held alongside the IBA African Regional Forum Conference in Johannesburg in September — the addition of this special Roundtable and partnership with Resourcing Tomorrow continues Africa Legal’s commitment to address critical themes at the intersection of business, law, and geopolitics.
