Our Story

Africa Legal was founded by Scott Cowan and Wendy Bampton, who combined their extensive experience across the legal, recruitment and professional services sectors to create a platform dedicated to Africa's legal community.

Wendy spent many years advising law firms internationally on merger integration, recruitment, technology adoption and business operations. Scott, a former Air Force serviceman, founded and grew a successful legal and financial recruitment business, developing extensive networks across the professional services sector.

Together, they recognised that Africa's legal market lacked a dedicated platform providing trusted news, market intelligence and opportunities for legal professionals to connect across jurisdictions.

What began as a vision to bridge that gap has evolved into Africa Legal - the gateway to Africa's legal markets, delivering trusted news, industry insights and impactful events that connect legal professionals across the continent and beyond.
